The Legend of Bangued

*** Actually, I created my own version about the legend of Bangued which is my hometown. I can't find any legend that's why I just did one because I had a project that requires a legend of our own town. This is not the actual legend of Bangued but there are some similarities. And the legend goes this way. :)

One day, in the mountainous region of Cordillera, there was this place which is very fresh and very green because of its lively trees situated at the mountain and even in the flat areas of the place. The place is still unnamed.
A group of foreigners came along into the place. On their way to the place, the tunnel was blocked by big rocks. Because of the big rocks situated inside the tunnel, the foreigners were not able to pass the tunnel which is the only way to the place. The foreigners thought of what should they do for them to pass the tunnel. One of the foreigners suggested that they should say some magic words. The rest of the foreigners agreed to the suggestion of their companion. So the foreigners gathered in front of the big rocks and said the magic words “Abra Cadabra!”. After they said the magic words, the big rocks suddenly fallen off one by one and the tunnel was already empty. The foreigners were able to pass through the tunnel of that. Just after passing through the tunnel, the foreigners saw some native settlers walking. One of the foreigners asked the natives settlers if what was the name of the place. One of the native settlers thought that what they were asking about was the name of the big rocks and the native settler answered “Bangen”. Because of this, the place was named Bangen.
As time goes by, there were several people who were going to the place and keep asking what was the name of the place and every time they heard the word Bangen, they were not able to pronounce it as what the native settlers do rather they pronounced it as “Bangued”. Because of the misunderstanding of pronunciation, the word “Bangued” was used for the name of the place. Furthermore, the entire province was named Abra because of the magic words used by the first foreigners for them to pass through the tunnel of the province.
